GMT water detecting

Hi guys
I have one question about GMT. Can i use my GMT (coil is standard Double D coil come along with detector color is white) in water. I mean is it possible to submerge just my coil to water not whole unit to hunt wet placers ?

Waterproof up to the control box.

Remember not raise the coil above the box after taking it out of the water----water will run down the rod and into the box----put a plug in the rod to prevent this from happening....
