This makes it easy, especially for non-residents, to get that fishing license any time day or night. Just go to https://www.admin.adfg.state.ak.us/buyonline (https://www.admin.adfg.state.ak.us/buyonline) and apply online. You can even buy a gift license for somebody - great gift idea folks!

Don't forget that most people fishing anadromous (sea-run) king salmon also need to get a King Salmon Stamp. You can apply for this online at the same time you apply for the license. Click on License Requirements below if you have any questions about if you need a license or stamp, plus who is exempt (many people are).

If you do not want to apply online you can download a mail-in application HERE (http://www.admin.adfg.state.ak.us/admin/license/11-527.pdf) but you need to allow for 2-4 weeks before you will get the license through the mail so plan ahead if you go this route.

2009 Alaska fihing regulations are in effect until April 14th, 2010 and are available online at http://www.sf.adfg.state.ak.us/statewide/reghome.cfm Do be aware that a fishing license does not allow you to fish anywhere. Many areas require an additional permit. Special area permits are available at http://www.sf.adfg.state.ak.us/statewide/reghome.cfm
