Greetings from Brad Sunstrom, a Two Rivers, Alaska miner who obtain some bragging rights and lead story over a cup of coffee at the Pleasant Valley store.

Discouraged and diesel drained by mid -- July, Brad was ready to come down off the mountain and sell out to the nearest lower 48 gold rusher. He said the flood gold just was'nt weighing a profit.

The rains of August came early except that Brad is a Sunstrom and not Edmund Fitzgerald.

Shown below is a 180 degree of round about : This is approximately 5 oz. of a 29 oz poke season

Now, instead of quitting mining all together, Brad is ready to double the size of his operation!!!

Map and follow up later

That is inspiring to a recreational miner such as myself that chases the flood gold! Your big day could simply be a gully-washer away!

I will try to get some applied science to the new cut Brad opened up on Boulder Creek . There are some good references on the Boulder Creek geology and associated geophysics.

Hey Bill, What kind of mining was he doing? I assumed it was dredging for the flood gold after a gully washer but then I notice diesel drained and new cut. Can you operate heavy equipment on a gravel bar? Im just confused...
You say he's expanding his operation...does he need another hand? I like that area up there and would like to get on a crew.

He had been driving by this upper bench the last two summers telling himself that eventually he was gonna have to get out of his truck and test the cut face. Well...eventually he got around to it.
