DGGS is seeking an entry level geologist (Geologist I) to assist in a major project to assess geology and geologic hazards affecting proposed natural gas pipelines in Alaska.

The Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) is seeking an entry level geologist (Geologist I) to assist in a major project to assess geology and geologic hazards affecting proposed natural gas pipelines in Alaska.

The successful applicant will use knowledge of basic geology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to make meaningful contributions to the Divisionís Gas Pipeline Corridor Program by creating and editing various GIS-based maps and figures. The successful applicant will work directly under the supervision of the program manager in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a long-term nonpermanent position that will last at least nine months.

The recruitment period ends October 12, 2012 at 5:00 pm.
