We of course had to have a Can-Am Outlander up at Moore Creek. I grew to really appreciate the incredibly smooth ride the Outlander offers. It really proved it's worth as a two up unit in ferrying people around from place to place. And with all the rack room it made a great prospecting unit. Here it is decked out for some metal detecting. The detector is my Minelab GPX-4500 outfitted with a 25" Nuggetfinder coil. The smaller detector on the rack is a Tesoro Lobo I was using as a pinpointer.

My friend Dennis spent a week up at the mine. One day a group of us headed up the trail - once you get above treeline you can drive forever and see forever. I was a nice guy and let Dennis use my Outlander.

Steve, how I envy you guys...you sure know how to live it up! I've always wanted to get an ATV, but just can't justify it. The photos remind me of so many places I've hunted over the years, it's just like deja-vous...almost as if I've seen it. Surreal.

It's one thing to read about prospectors using the very large coils, but it really hits home with impact, when you see the gear being used as illustrated in your photos.

Would you mind if asked how much one of those 4 wheel puppies cost?

Hi Jim,

Up here an ATV is a necessity, but a fun one. The Outlanders range from $7,000 - $12,000 depending on the model.
